Large—Jill
• Finalized plans for the Dave Scott weekend
• Run/swim events capped at 30 participants while the bike will
be capped at 50 participants
o 25 participants have signed-up for all three events
o bike event may be increased depending on demand
• Ken to purchase arm bands to discourage bandit participation
at events
• 11x17” window posters and black & white flyers will
be provide to sponsors
• Event coordinators to develop a list of volunteer roles so we
have a better idea of how many people will be needed.
Vice
President’s Report—Chris
• March meeting speaker: Jennifer Klein (VO2 max Houston)
• April meeting speakers: Pablo Sanchez (swim technique); Quentin
Dyson (bike technique); Doug Storey (run technique)
o Articles will be sent to Will by end of week
• May meeting: to be held at JDH. Grant will contact JDH regarding
meeting logistics.
• Chris to setup Yahoo Group poll for future monthly themes
Secretary’s
Report—Will
• Newsletters to be ready later in the week and will be prepped
for mailing by a group
• Need to have monthly minutes posted to the website in a timely
manner
Treasurer’s
Report—Ken
• IRS/Re-chartering is moving along and past financials need to
be recreated in usable format. He expects to have our tax deductible
status with the IRS reinstated with the next month or so
• Agreed to notify membership when everything is finalized
• Pool Sharks: 3 coaches will rotate weekly and pool sharks workouts
will begin soon and run through October 22. Ken is interested in a Pool
Sharks party and timing is TBD.
• Ken expressed concerns over Signmeup.com and suggested moving
J&B registration to Active.com.
Membership—Gail
• 159 renewals/52 new households (about 20% of households are
family memberships)
• Chris/Gail to send a targeted email to all 2005 members not
yet renewed notifying them that they will not receive the April newsletter
Sponsorship—Biff
• Several potential new sponsorships for next year: Nytro and
others
• Trivantage expressed modest interest in partnering with HRTC
President’s
Report—Grant
• Doug & Alex to speak at RRCA Convention—March 8-12
• Discussed potential donations to Texas Bicycle Coalition
• Agreed to purchase USAT insurance to cover agents of the club
(directors, volunteers, sponsors, etc.)
• Tabled issue of raising 2007 dues to include insurance for all
club members participating in club-sponsored events
• Discussed the need for a new webmaster and some possible solutions
